Ok,this is a SORE day for me. I again have lost the battle with stairs. I don't know why but it is now the 3rd time I have fallen down stairs with tragic results, this time blessing and bruising.
1-Back in 1989 (at BYU-Rivera)I was late for work and I was in high-heels. One of the heels caught on the metal lip and down I went. I tried to stop myself by grabbing the railing but I kept falling. Broke my middle finger. (Now I have arthritis in it)
2-In 1990 (at BYU-south of campus condos)I slipped in my penny-loafer on ice going downstairs and fell on my left butt check, but I stood up, fainted and landed on my face on the stairs with a 2-3 inch gash on my forehead. (forehead got 83 stitches, fractured my tail bone & had to sit on a donut for days as well as failed my tennis class).
3-11/06/2008, going downstairs to pick some items I dropped as I was going up the stairs. The stairs had rain on them (I live in Seattle, what do you expect?) Down I went landed on my right butt check and bounced down and landed on my back. I know I was truly blessed this time because when I fell I heard a loud crack and my back hurt. So I was very scared since I don't have health insurance. Luckily I had my cell phone called my roommate to come outside, called my parents (no answer), my roommate called 911 (I started to faint and was getting nauseated). CUTE men checked me out, they helped me up and got me inside. They didn't think I broke anything (maybe the stairs). Put ice on my butt and back and I took 4 Advil(only a very bruised left butt check and sore back) Today ( 11/7/08) I have no back pain, a mildly sore butt but can get around. I know the Lord blessed me, I have no doubt in my mind.

I'm glad you're ok Fer. That sounds like it hurt. I had no idea you had 83 stitches in your forehead. I guess they did a good job of stitching you up. Did you get charged for the ambulance visit?
No I was afraid of the bill so I had my friends take me. Mom and did told me to go in the ambulance next time.
The night I got the 83 stitches the doctor on call was a plastic surgeon
Wow! I'm glad you are okay. What a blessing that you didn't break anything or get banged up too bad. Maybe you need to live on the ground floor somewhere ;)(just kidding) I am amazed that you got 83 stitches and don't have a noticable scar. That doctor must have been really good! I hope you're back on your feet soon.
I'm glad you're ok, sis. Take care of yourself. :)
LOve you.
